SAH Builder Registration Information
Builders for Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) are not required to be approved by VA. They need only to register with VA to obtain a VA Builder ID number.
Thus, there is no lengthy processing time and, in most cases, an ID number can be issued within five (5) business days.
How to Obtain a builder ID
To obtain a Builder ID number, four items need to be submitted through a ServiceNow ticket. These items are:
- Builder information and certification on builder's letterhead
- VA Form 26-421 Equal Employment Opportunity Certification
- VA Form 8791 VA Affirmative Marketing Certification
- Copy of the builder's license, if required by a state or local authority
How to participate in the program as a builder
Once you have your builder ID number, you may be interested in learning how to get started in the SAH program as a new builder.
Our SAH Builder Training Portal includes information on the various stages of the SAH grant process that can help you succeed on your SAH projects.
